Fridays from 10am-11:30
We are a group of ladies who love diving into the Word and connecting in fellowship. We use a study guide to focus our discussion on the text, and group participation is encouraged. We strive to connect the passage to our lives and learn from each other in a safe Christian environment. We share prayer concerns at the end of each gathering and meet in the Bible Study Classroom every week.
The Lutheran Women's Missionary League's (LWML) mission is to assist each woman in affirming her relationship with God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to serve the people of the world.
"Serve the Lord with Gladness"
Psalm 100:2
Our LWML group here at First Lutheran Venice is made up of women who are dedicated to the LWML mission and serve the Lord in many ways in our congregation, in the community, and throughout the world.
All women of the congregation are considered members of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. We invite all women to join us in "Serving the Lord with Gladness!
Mites are a great way to make every penny count. They are collected to support the mission projects of LWML at the national and district levels. These projects include helping those in need around the world, providing medical care, developing schools for Christian education, helping at-risk youth, supporting the elderly, and many other worthwhile endeavors.
Pick up your Mite box in Smith Hall to start filling yours up now. Mites are collected the 2nd Sunday of every month.
Mites are the offerings each LWML member commits to the organization and its mission. These offerings are called mites as a reminder of the Bible Story of the widow who gave two little coins (called mites) to the temple treasury. When the temple officials scoffed at her offering, Jesus praised her, for she had given all she had. The women of the LWML work to give all they can to serve their Lord, and they do it with joy, knowing their mites will go to help people better know their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Our mission is to connect the people of Los Angeles to God's love and peace.
